Maxwell Cowlin

A well known and admired local studio potter, for Maxwell Cowlin pottery and working with clay in all its many aspects has been a lifelong interest. He first attended evening classes at High Wycombe College in 1958 when 20. He has returned to them throughout his life at various venues and with some very inspiring teachers.
Semi-retiring in 1995, Maxwell seized the opportunity to set up his own home studio. Working with a range of stoneware clays, he mixes his own glazes, and makes a variety of decorative bowls, vases, garden pots and domestic ware, mostly wheel thrown.
